What a great day we’ve had today!
We started off at the Crown Courts (sorry no photos allowed) where we watched a series of live trials & sentencing in a criminal court. It got us really thinking about the connections between being a good citizen and the law.
We then took a trip to County Hall, where we learnt about local government and the importance of debate. We debated the use of smart phones for those aged under 16 & our mentees did the most fabulous job of communicating both sides of the argument eloquently & respectfully.
Additionally, we had a fabulous time crafting creations to decorate the tables for the gala dinner.
A huge thanks to directors Laura & Simon who led parts of the day and to mentor Michelle (our resident artist) who has co-ordinated all the design & build for our art pieces!
